Mushroom Spool without Screw, 66 Block
Cable Clutter
Free-range cables can be a pest. Turn your back and suddenly it seems like there were more than you had to begin with. Leave them alone long enough and they’re spilling out everywhere. There’s no avoiding them, not at home or at work. You need wires for your entertainment center, your network, and chances are there are wires all over the inside of your computer. Especially in a professional setting, no one wants to see a careless cord cluster. Messy cables aren’t just aesthetically unappealing- they can also cause injury or damage. We’ve all tripped over a cord on the floor that shouldn’t have been there, and pets are especially prone to snacking on loose wires. Even if no one interferes, tangled cables can impede proper air circulation which is especially harmful to the delicate circuits in electronic equipment.

Cable management is important, and although it can seem tedious, it doesn’t have to be. There are many ways to bundle up your renegade cords, but when it comes to voice and data networking you need something special. FireFold’s MUSHROOM-SPOOL wire distribution spool is designed for use primarily with 66 blocks, although they can also be used with a network patch panels. As the name implies, they are shaped like a mushroom or T to allow you to drape and loop cables without worrying they may slip off. These spools are generally screwed straight into a stud, board, or rack. This product does not include a screw, but it does have a through-hole to allow you to use the screw of your choice. This particular type of spool allows you to route, direct, and steer cross-connections, wires, and patch cables to and from a block. By picking up the slack, they create a much more organized look than cables alone while still offering easy access for modifications and troubleshooting later. This mushroom spool is 1.75” x 3”, the standard size for wire distribution spools, and molded from impact-resistant plastic for a lasting installation.
